Our farm originated in Stonewall, Manitoba raising purebred Herefords. In 1990, we relocated to Innisfail, Alberta just 15 minutes south of Red Deer. Our daughter Barb, husband Dwayne Patchett and grandkids Brett, Connor, Mack and Bridgit live in Red Deer. Our son James teaches high school in Airdrie, Alberta. Our younger daughter Meghan and husband Jerry Jenkins live in Innisfail and have a few cows of their own here at the farm.
In 1993, we purchased 10 yearling Red Angus bred heifers from Ron and Mary Devolin of Didsbury. These became the foundation females of our herd. It is from these great cows that Red YY Knight 640F (1999 National Champion Bull), Red YY Topgun 614F, and YY Belle 742F descended. A few years later we were fortunate to be involved with Don Stewart, exporting three groups of calves to Brazil and Argentina.
We are proud of the individual animals from our program that have done well in the show ring. We are equally proud of our bulls that have sold into commercial programs and been successfully-measured by the response of repeat customers. We are gratified by the faith in our product of Sebastien Stewart who purchased 30 - 2nd calf heifers from us this fall.
Red Angus have done us well and we greatly appreciate the circle of friends we have come to know in the industry. |
